Chioma Ibiam Aja is a passionate Polymer and Materials Science Engineer whose work bridges the gap between advanced scientific research and impactful community engagement. With a rich academic background—holding a B.Eng. in Polymer Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, and an M.Sc. in Nanoscience from the Universidad del País Vasco, Spain—Chioma’s expertise spans physics, chemistry, quantum mechanics, nanoscience, and renewable energy systems.

Her scientific mastery includes nano-characterization, dielectric relaxation spectroscopy, NMR, FTIR, and advanced microscopy and scattering techniques. But beyond the lab, Chioma shines as a science communicator, educator, and changemaker.

As the founder of Café Scientifique-Woman, Chioma created a vibrant platform to inspire and equip young women in Nigeria and across Africa to pursue careers in STEM. Through hands-on training in artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, coding, research writing, and creative experiments, CSW has directly impacted over 1,200 girls with more than 400 hours of transformative STEM engagement. Her work, rooted in research and powered by purpose, addresses systemic gaps in science education, especially for girls in underrepresented communities.

Chioma’s leadership journey is as dynamic as her scientific work. She served as Deputy Speaker of the Nigerian Youth Parliament (2019–2021), where she led impactful climate action campaigns and contributed to national environmental policy. She is also a Bosch Science Cluster Moderator, coordinating a global network of over 500 science professionals, and serves as Vice President of the Rouleaux Foundation, advancing STEM education and talent development in Africa.

Currently the Executive Director of GrandXperia Ltd., an eco-focused travel and science tourism company, Chioma merges science, sustainability, and entrepreneurship to inspire future innovators. Her work has earned her global recognition, including fellowships, awards, and invitations to contribute to international research and policy initiatives.

Chioma’s journey reflects a deep commitment to using science as a tool for empowerment, equity, and sustainable development. Through Café Scientifique-Woman, she continues to shine a light on what’s possible when young women are given the tools, knowledge, and confidence to lead in science and innovation.

Chisom Deborah Ibekwe is a creative and goal-driven communications professional with a flair for storytelling, branding, and digital strategy. As the Content and Communication Manager at Café Scientifique-Woman, she leads the development of engaging digital content that amplifies the voices of young women in STEM, while promoting visibility and impact for the initiative’s programs and campaigns.

With a background in law from Abia State University and professional experience in social media management, content creation, and legal research, Deborah brings a unique blend of creativity and structure to her role. She manages online platforms, creates captivating visuals and narratives, and curates thought-provoking stories that drive engagement and inspire action.

Beyond CSW, she expresses her creativity through TheDeborahPen, where she explores abstract storytelling, spoken word poetry, and symbolic narratives centered on self-discovery and identity. Her passion for digital media, strong organizational skills, and commitment to purpose-driven communication continue to make her an invaluable voice in shaping and sharing the mission of Café Scientifique-Woman.

Nweke Blessing Ogonna is a dedicated healthcare professional and graduate of Medical Laboratory Science from Ebonyi State University. As a Café Lead at Café Scientifique-Woman, she brings her passion for science, public engagement, and community development into action by mentoring young women and coordinating STEM-focused sessions across local communities.

Blessing is known for her strong organizational and leadership skills, with a talent for public speaking and effective communication. Her role at CSW involves planning and facilitating interactive science cafés, empowering girls to explore science through practical experiments, discussions, and innovative thinking.

With a commitment to excellence, integrity, and impact, Blessing continues to champion the mission of Café Scientifique-Woman—bridging the gender gap in STEM and inspiring the next generation of female scientists and innovators.
